Since its inception in 1980, the Acrosstown Repertory Theatre has provided Gainesville and Alachua County with a unique and innovative cultural experience. It  provides learning experiences in acting, writing, directing, film making, and production in many diverse sectors of our community, especially for those who otherwise might not enjoy such opportunities.

A 501(c)3 Florida non-profit, the ART is an entirely volunteer-driven organization. Citizens of all ages, races, sexual preferences, and socio-economic backgrounds participate in the theater’s activities. The theater is also open for rental to non-Acrosstown groups when its own programs are not scheduled.
