Since its inception in 1980, the Acrosstown Repertory Theatre has provided Gainesville and Alachua County with a unique and innovative cultural experience. It has provided learning experiences in acting, writing, directing, film making, and production in many diverse sectors of our community, especially for those who otherwise might not enjoy such opportunities.

At the Acrosstown Repertory Theatre, citizens of all ages, races, sexual preferences, and socio-economic backgrounds participate in the theatre’s activities. Professional and amateur playwrights, poets, and other creative artists have seen their works staged. Workshops and performance opportunities for children, the elderly, the disabled, and minorities have been promoted. The heated is also open for rental to non-Acrosstown groups when its own programs are not scheduled.

The Acrosstown Repertory Theatre is especially dedicated to our multiple-cultural opportunities in theatre for members of our community. The theatre os open to all and presents theatrical experiences for which there are no other venues in the area.
